What a couple of days. On 28th and 29th September 2026, the HiStone stand (HT1328) at Hospitality Tech Expo 2026 in ExCeL London was busy from the moment the doors opened until the lights went down.
Hospitality Tech Expo 2026: Two Teams, One Stand
Stuart Packwood, Managing Director of B-Spoke Systems Ltd and HiStone’s UK distributor, was on the stand both days. He was joined by Chris Li, who travelled from HiStone’s headquarters in Qingdao, China.
Having the UK distribution team and the manufacturer side by side made a real difference. Visitors could talk about the hardware and how it gets to the UK in the same conversation. They could also talk about how we stock, configure and support it once it arrives.
It was great to catch up with so many existing partners, many of whom we’ve worked with for years. It was just as good to meet resellers, software houses and retailers who were seeing HiStone for the first time. Plenty of those conversations have already turned into follow-up calls and showroom visits.
The HM638 Stole the Show
If one product had people queuing, it was the new HM638. It’s a Windows 11 tablet that drops into a smart dock, so it works as a fixed till at the counter. Lift it out and it becomes a handheld you can take across the shop floor or into a busy restaurant.
That flexibility is what caught people’s attention. Retailers could see it working for queue-busting and stock checks during busy periods. Hospitality operators liked the idea of taking orders at the table and then putting the same device back on the counter. Because it runs Windows 11, software houses were keen to know how their own applications would run on it.
